Boycott Oprah – Sponsor / Advertiser List

This list is checked by a group of volunteers and will be updated every couple of weeks. The page is sponsored by the “Boycott Oprah” and “Impeach Obama Tea Party” pages on FaceBook with a combined membership of about 15,000. Of course, the members are connected to many others via FaceBook, so the potential exposure of this list via sharing on FaceBook is several millions, of like-minded FaceBook users, according to FaceBook statistics. So, please do post this link on your wall and share with your friends. If you would like to coordinate your actions with other volunteers, click here to join our e-mail list. (Companies, who no longer advertise with Oprah, can use the same form to send a request to be removed from the boycott list.)

The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) only draws about 100K viewers, on average. We can easily outnumber them with boycotters, if people will make the effort. Many advertisers have already fled OWN (see list below) and Oprah has had to lay off many employees and even to resort to running ads for dildos and sexual lubricants, in order to generate desperately needed ad revenue.

It is very important to contact these advertisers and tell them we are boycotting their products, because they advertise on the OWN or Oprah Magazine or the Oprah website. Click on the company name to go to their home page and find the “contact us” or “customer service” link.

You don’t have to boycott all of these products. Perfection is not expected. Just look this list over and switch to alternative products whenever that is feasible, without causing you or your family too much inconvenience. Check back periodically for updates to this list and to consider how you can boycott better. We need to be in this for the long term. Be a reverse-consumer. Pick the things that you can easily give up and do that. That way you can stay with the boycott for years, if need be. Don’t make it too difficult, because you will not be able to maintain the effort.

Desparate Oprah resorts
to Ads for Sex Toys (Dildos)
We try to list below the major brands of sponsors, whether any particular brand is advertised on OWN or not. That way we can boycott all of the brands of a OWN sponsor, even though not all of the sponsor’s brands below may be advertised on OWN. That way more people can find a brand to boycott and we can hurt the sponsors more than otherwise. We will boycott their entire brand line, if they advertise on OWN.

If you want to concentrate on a single company, boycott Proctor & Gamble first. P&G has a $100M contract with OWN! The largest contract by far. Along with Proctor & Gamble the primary targets are the “long-term advertisers” listed below:

These few companies pay for a large part of the ads. You can easily substitute generic or store brands for many of the household products of some of these sponsors.

Many of the companies have been crossed out below that have not been seen lately. Some probably are still active. When new ads are seen the cross-out line will be removed. If the company/product is crossed out, there is no need to boycott at this time, but this may change if new ads for the company are seen.

GROUP #1 – LONG-TERM (CONTRACT) SPONSORS

There are two types of advertisers. Those that have long-term contracts and whose ads run continuously and those that pay-as-you-go and whose ads may only run for a short time, days or weeks. These companies in this section are advertisers, who appear to run their ads constantly over an extended time. They may have ads running under multiple brand names and are generally the larger companies and will be more difficult to impact. These are, however, the main boycott targets, because they provide the most revenue to OWN. Please contact them about the boycott and avoid buying their products. Click on the company name to go to their website and look for a “contact us” or “customer service” link.

Chase Credit Cards

Discovery Communications (50% owner of OWN. Don’t watch their other channels.)

Discovery Communications is co-owner of OWN and, in effect, the biggest sponsor. It is important to boycott all of their channels and let them know that is due to Oprah. Click on the link above for their contact info. This is probably the easiest and more effective thing that you can do, because they are as important as all of the sponsors combined.

GROUP #2 – SHORT-TERM ADVERTISERS

These companies are thought to be short-term advertisers, those who just pay for their ads to run for maybe a couple of weeks. These companies tend to be smaller, more transient, less committed and easier to influence. Please contact them and ask them to stop advertising with OWN. Avoid buying their products. They may not advertise for long, but if you contact them, they may not come back later, as they might otherwise. In other words, these are soft targets for an e-mail. E-mail them and they may drop out right away.

Click on the company links above and you should be able to find a “contact us” or “customer service” link at these sites. The effect of the boycott may not be immediately obvious to the advertisers, so continue contacting these sponsors periodically to make sure they are aware of the boycott. Keep at it and the boycott will have an impact over time. Individuals have been boycotting OWN for some time, which is already reflected in the low ratings of OWN. Now, it is time to go after the sponsors in a concerted way!

EXAMPLE E-MAIL

Dear Sirs,

This is to let you know that the “Impeach Obama Tea Party” and the new “Boycott Oprah” group on FaceBook with a combined membership of about 15,000 are boycotting the products advertised on the Oprah Winfrey Network and Oprah’s Magazine/Website, because of Oprah Winfrey’s political support of Barack Obama, whom we believe should be impeached and removed from office for a number of reasons. Your company has been identified as having an advertised product in this list and will be a target of this boycott as long as your ads continue appearing on the Oprah Winfrey Network. We request that you please refrain from advertising on the Oprah Winfrey network or her other media entities. Please pass this message to your marketing department.

This list will be updated frequently. So, check back for changes.

36 thoughts on “Boycott Oprah – Sponsor / Advertiser List”

  1. All you need to do is not buy what you can do without. If enough people get involved it will average out. You may not be able to avoid buying something, but others will.

OWN is very weak right now. So, an effective boycott can have a big impact. If we can get even as many as 10K people doing this, it will make the sponsors very nervous. I think, even if only few people contact them and just say the word “boycott,” it scares them, already. They already know that a lot of people are fed up with Oprah. If we can have a deleterious impact Oprah’s operations, it will send a message to all of Hollywood that we are tired of all of their anti-American bullcrap.

  2. Wow…it’ll be tough, but it’s something conservatives know how to do — tighten their belts, and hold their ground!!
This country was fought for, and WON, by Conservatives!!
I’m in, all the way, to take our country back and BOOT HIM OUT!!

  3. Thanks, but I don’t think it is that tough. Just look through the list and see what you can cut out, without too much trouble. You don’t need to make a superhuman effort. Just do what you can and stick with it over a long time. There’s a lot of stuff here that people can stop buying without too much trouble.

There are competitors for a lot of these products and there are perishables, things you buy frequently. Worry about future buys, you don’t need to get rid of things that you already have.

Check back every once in a while, every week or two, to re-evaluate how you can do better. Also contact some companies when you have time. It will be a little bit of work for me to keep track of which companies are advertising.

  4. Ugh – the products like Aveeno – that makes my skin glow – and many of the others – i will boycott even though i don’t want to b/c the CAUSE IS that IMPORTANT!!! but i think we should put up alternative s to these brands- then it will not seem so hard for people to do- … just an idea- i will help if you want – and I am honest…let me know — Oprah STINKS….

  5. The best think you could do to help right now is contact the companies with an e-mail or letter. Click on their name to go to their homepage and look for a “contact us” or “customer service” link.

  6. Great idea and well organized. Remember one thing: A corporation’s last item sold is it’s most profitable sale. When you remove enough highly profitable sales, they do notice. I would recommend scouting out the contact links for each target rather than making users scout them out. Also, your letter needs work to make it more matter of fact and less stridently political. The impeachment statement is pretty over the top and needs not to even be mentioned. A simple statement that you disapprove of her political and financial support of the incumbent president and his political philosophy would, in my opinion, be more productive.

I would also suggest that people request cancellation of their affinity or discount cards (Albertson’s Supermarket, for example) and that people with credit cards issued by or through a particular company request that someone in the company contact them about credit card cancellation. Make them spend employee time pursuing you, if at all possible.

Last suggestion: compile a list of alternate brands so that letter writers can mention then in their boycott communications, and obviously be guided in new purchasing patterns.

  7. This was all I needed. Now I know which products to boycott! Thanks Guys! Have been Boycotting her since 2008. Go Generic! Come on Lowe’s Get with the Program… I spend annually at least a few thousand per year in your store. I will go to mom-and-pop places instead.

  8. I have no problem with boycotts. I won’t even buy things traded on Wall Street period. They have enough money already. I’d love to see the power go back to the people…but it is ultimately up to each individual. And I will only buy Made and Packaged in the USA as well. I will not be guilty of funding the economic demise of my own country.

  9. I am proud to say I have looked through the entire list and found absolutely nothing that I haven’t already boycotted!! I have been using boycott to vote my political views for the past 15 years. Awareness is the key.

  10. I HAVE GON OVER THE LIST AND CHECKED IT TWICE TO SEE IF I AM NAUGHTY OR NICE AND DISCOVERED THAT I AM NICE. I AM DOING WANT I CAN TO SUPPORT THIS NOT ONLY TO SEND A MESSAGE TO THESE COMPANIS BUT TO OPRAH HERSELF, LOKE AS IF GOING TO MAK A DIFFERENCE. THE WOMAN SOLD HR SOUL OUT YEARS AGO LADIES AND GENTLEMEN AND LITTLES KIDDOS. DO NOT LOOK UP TO THE OPRAH SHE JUST SAT ON HR CHAIR ON HR FAT BUTT LISTENING TO PEOPLE TELL THE CRAP IN THEIR MISERABLE LIVES,,,,, HHHEHHHEEHHH. WHAT A FREAKING , NOW I DO NOT GO ALONG WITH TIS DUMB ASS OWS IDEA BUT WITH OPRAH IS ONE PLACE WHERE I WHOLE HEARTLY 100 PERCENT BELIEVE OPRAH NEEDS TO TAKE HER WHOLE WORTH AND TAKE RY AMRICAN AND DIVIDE THAT INTO HR WORTH AND GIVV ACH AMERICAN A CHECK FOR WASTING EACH AMRICANS TIME AND WORTH.

  11. It is amazing to me how blind some one can be or this has been a deliberate act on her part to place the most destructive person in office… It is unbelievably how we never really look back in history to see what’ and whom’ was placed in power and given a free hand to destroy a culture …religion…and the freedoms of the country…. America has the enemy within it’s borders we don’t need to look beyond to other countries to find them, they are well rooted here and have a serious plan to destroy us…and we have been colored blinded to place some one with no experience to lead…only to be a bought person. we really need to wake up the alarms are being sounded but we are still asleep…Americans aren’t really waring people but we will stand our ground to defend our country and its people…please everyone this years election is very serious and those who are seeking to destroy us will not hold any thing back…they look forward to cheating ….and dirty politics…because to these folks it’s not about being a servant to serve in office as a leader but to always be placed in office to be first…they hate being defended…we really need to stop voting for popularity..this is not a class president for school…this president holds the power to shape our life style..freedoms…and religion..or to place us in bondage .. maybe for ever! i have lived in communist china..you do not want the country to go this way…the very heart of the people has been broken by government control..there is little to no compassion..and mercy in this culture…i just witnessed a lil’ 2 yr. girl being run over by two different trucks and 19 passer-byes who never stopped to aid her or to get her out out the road or call for help ….they just looked and moved on. this culture was not always this heartless they have become this way because the things that made the feel humane emotions were stolen from them for years of snitching out family..friends…religious leaders and so on because they were being re-trained in their individual thinking to stop and to be brainwashed for government control..now the very soul of the communist Chinese has died and its people are lost…this is what happens to a culture that falls prey to government control..they are wonderful people and are very dedicated to their causes…but you really must open both eyes to see if what causes are worthy and which ones are meant to destroy..the lil’ girl died..which path will we allow for our country to go and will we wake up from the slumber for the alarm is sounded and where are the leaders to lead???

  12. People like “Renie” are not only uneducated about the system of boycotting, but they’re just plain nasty. Don’t listen to the wolves in sheep’s clothing!! I worked in advertising for 17 years and when the word BOYCOTT was even UTTERED by a group, change was made!!! A ROCK station even changed their expensive billboards because an organized group of CHINESE PEOPLE threatened to contact advertisers with the threat of boycotting them if the offensive billboards were not taken down. Chinese listeners are not typically Rock listeners, but they are CONSUMERS and THAT is what mattered!
As stated, the MOST EFFECTIVE thing you can do to start with is to take a few moments to shoot out a few emails to corporations on the list.to make them aware that their support is costing them even MORE MONEY than those coveted advertising dollars that they are spending. But back up your words as well. It might be a good idea to mention in the email that you are a typical buyer of Brand A, B, & C (that is within their company umbrella) but that your family will be using Brands D, E & F from their competitors until change is made. I’m sure that if you are a loyal Ocean Spray drinker (for example), you can easily think of a competitor or two to list.
Roger, whether the list is shareable or not (as “Anonymous” a.k.a. “chicken shit” stated), you ARE trying to make a change and I, for one, applaud you for this compilation of information. I thank you for your hard work and efforts as well. I will quite easily copy and paste the list onto a word document and put it in the kitchen so that when I make my buying lists, I have my “NO buying list” there as well!). True, there are certain products within a household that are harder to get around, but as you stated, do what you can COMFORTABLY do without causing stress to yourself or your family.
Another idea to hit places like Albertsons is to print out your own list (copy and paste, people!!!) and leave some copies in the shopping carts in the Albertsons parking lot. When they see THEIR name on the boycott list, it might help get the message across. If enough stores have these lists in the carts, not only will it hit the store, but the list is RIGHT THERE where people are doing their shopping! You never know who wants to help and join the fight but are just unaware of the battle at hand!!! This is a GREAT idea and I’m sure you have your own job/family/life to live so everything you have taken your own time to compile here is very much appreciated. You are doing a great thing here. BOYCOTTS WORK!

  13. I AM SO SICK AND TIRED OF OPRAH AND SINCE THE BEEGINING OF HER SHOW IN THE LATE 70 EARLY 80’S I KNEW THAT THIS WOMAN WAS A SCAMMER AND WAS RIPPING OFF MONEY AND FAME FROM OTHER POOR FOLKS HEARTBREAKS SHE JUST SMILED AND LAFFED HER BIG BLACK BUTT ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK. YES SHE HAS A SAD STORY BUT HO DOSNT VERY FEW DONT BLACK OR WHITE. PHIL DONAHUE HAD A SIMILAR SHOW IN FACT HIS WAS FIRST AND I DID NOT LIKE HIS STUPID TALK SHO EITHER. I LIKED MIKE DDOUGLAS AN MERV GRIFFIN SHOWS THAT ENTERTAINED! OPRAH GOT FILTHY RICH FOR WHAT HER SO CALLED TALENT ? I CAN THROW UP JUST SAYING THAT SH HAS NO TALENT. SHE IS BLACK FAT AND CAN SIT ON THAT FAT BUTT AND LISTEN TO PEOPLE TALK THATS TALENT/??? OH YEAH SHE DID A COUPLE MOVIES BIG DEAL NO GREAT TALENT THERE.

  14. hey wendy just so you know my keyboard is messed up the keys are sticking and some keys do not type and it is so frustrating. Also I am all for ‘boyotting . I am just letting everyone know how I think about Oprah and her so called talent that got her the riches she stoled.

  15. I will boycott Macy’s and Walmart. I will not shop there anymore for food and macy’s for clothing… Consider it done. I even stop watching her shows from the moment I found out that she promoted Obama because he is black… I have not seen any of her shows since.. Intertainers should stay out of politics… It turn my stomach when they promote a candidate over another. They should be neutral…

  16. nina3660 :
I am boycotting all of these products….

No more Viva, Cottonell, Mr Clean, All of them. I have to carry a list of them when I go shopping at Grocery stores and no more Macy’s and Walmarts.

    1. Because she is a self-worshiping egomaniac. The real question is who so many fools don’t see through and object to her egomania?

  17. I stopped watching Oprah when she opened that school for girls. Diane Sawyer said to Oprah I didn’t see but I believe she said one white child. Oprah raised up in her chair and said I DON’T OWE the WHITE FOLK NOTHING. I NEVER missed her shows, but I STOPPED that day. I then felt in my heart Oprah was racist and so I said I am done with her. So Boycotting will be my PLEASURE.

  18. Oprah voted for COLOR only. She is immune to the damage Obama is doing to this country. Her wealth will carry her through the the decline of this great nation. I’ll not buy ANYTHING that will help/support/sponsor Oprah in any way!!

  19. I am joining the boycott. I will avoid all products on this list that I can find an alternative to that I currently purchase.
